Blue Sky Noise

Can't say I would have ever heard of Circa Survive if I hadn't been placed in Light Hall freshman year with ma bro and counterpart, Kmogs. With all homo aside, Circa recently came out with an album entitled "Blue Sky Noise." Although I am normally not a huge fan of post-hardcore, post-rock, or whatever genre you might throw Circa into, I really enjoyed a couple of tracks on this album. Lead singer and front man, Anthony Green, and crew have an amazing songwriting ability. Green's hypnotizing reverbed vocals are mesmerizing as well as the jangling echoed guitars that back him. Sometimes I even mistake his sharp sliding voice with that of a chick (i mean that in the nicest possible way). anyway check out these first two tracks, and my favorites, from the album "Blue Sky Noise"

Metric Tons

It's not that I dont appreciate the music that they make, or that I dont love the sound of Lead singer Emily Haines' voice. It's just that I enjoy the many remixes of their songs much more than I do the originals.
That's not to say that the originals are less valuable or worse quality, because without them, there would be no remixes at all. I just think that, like the yeah yeah yeahs or Santogold, Metric's music becomes very very good when remixed and made danceable. Here's a couple awesome tunes...

African Good Times

I stumbled on this while I was sitting inside on a raining cloudy day and it flipped my mood around. It's amazing the variety of music that exists in the world as well as the way it's played. This is a pretty unconventional method of guitar playing, but the African woman seems to know exactly what she's doing and having a good time as well. This tune is guaranteed to cheer you up no matter how many cats and dogs are fallin outside.
