Support Your Local

Heres an up and coming artist out of providence, RI who happens to go to the same College as Tuna and I, Northeastern University. I had the opportunity to meet G-Riot through my friend Jared who happens to be G's manager through RecThisCity. Oumar (G-Riot) was literally freestyling the entire time. I have never seen anything like it, It was incredible. Jared told me recently to check out some of his new tracks which can be found on maaad blogs now and they're dope.

This track, Moony, is about a girl (The Moon) who isnt the right girl for him for various reasons. The other girl who he startes rapping about towards the end of the song is The Sun and she is the perfect girl for him.
Listen to how he correlates the planets and the girls...honestly its amazing. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL

Noize

one from one of our favorites here at the sandwich:

Dark Side

The Flaming lips recently came out with a tribute album to Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon. I was fortunate enough to witness the entire album played in full, live at Bonnaroo this year. Needless to say, it was incredible. Definitely get the entire album if you appreciate music at all and have the means to gett it. Here's a taste of a couple of my favorites off the album. burn one and sit back n listen:

LIPS

here are a few related tunes. the first is an original by the flaming lips called "do you realize??" the second is a remix done by the postal service, a group formed by the lead from death cab and done entirely over postal and e-mail. Thirdly another trippy remix of the same song by Scott Harris. I couldn't find this video/song online so I'm just posting the track from my iTunes. This may or may not work....

Mogwai

A bit of a depressing sounding song, all instrumental and a lot of distortion, but it reminds me of 28 days later, if youve seen the movie. Not all of Mogwai's stuff is good, but I enjoy this song.

Time I Spend w/ You

love these dudes from spain. 4 guys named DELOREAN opened when I went to see Miike Snow this past year and I really enjoyed it, having never heard their music before. definitely check them out.

Old Lupe

Lupe Is one of my favorite rappers, Unlike most in his profession, Lupe does not drink, doesn't do drugs, and as had the same girlfriend for a couple years. Growing up he didn't like how hip-hop degraded women. Gotta Respect a dude like that. But while the sun is shining, throw this track on.
